Last year we introduced our S2 line of guitars with the idea of offering high-quality American made guitars at a more affordable price.
We started with three models: the S2 Mira, the S2 Starla, and the S2 Custom 24. Since then, we have added 5 new models for a total of 8 product offerings in the S2 Series.
We are proud of how they look, how they feel, and most importantly how they sound. Each guitar in the lineup sounds slightly different and produces different tones. However, one thing that nearly all of the S2 models share is their simple yet intelligent control layout that helps the player achieve a wide variety of great tones. Here’s how it works:
Each S2 guitar has a three-way blade pickup selector, a volume knob, and a push pull tone knob. Pulling up on the tone knob splits the pickups from humbucking to single-coil. It is important to note that there is little to no loss of volume after splitting the coils, a development that we are proud of and is on our core model guitars. Without any adjustments to the amp, guitarists find it helpful to see the guitar do all of the work in shaping their tone. This works extremely well for people on stage, in the middle of a song, who want to make a quick change to their tone without taking the time to adjust the amp.
Nearly every S2 guitar shares the same control layout and functionality. The only exception is the S2 Singlecut and S2 Singlecut semi-hollow.
With these guitars, the functionality is the same but we’ve added another volume and another push-pull tone knob for more control.
This demo of our S2 Mira Semi-Hollow shows the differences you can achieve in your tone by making simple adjustments to these controls.
