PTC Pickup Install

The Paul Reed Smith Tech Center (PTC) is a group of talented guitar repairmen who are dedicated to the responsible repair and authentic techniques true to a PRS guitar’s original construction. This particular musician wanted to add a bit more tonal variety to his PRS 408 model. The PTC properly re-routed the body in order to add a middle pickup. The 408 traditionally comes with two 408 pickups controlled by a 3-way blade switch. The PTC added a middle pickup (our DC single-coil pickup) and converted the 3-way blade to a 5-way blade for more complete tonal control. The existing mini-toggles convert the neck and bridge pickups to either single-coil or humbucking modes. A push-pull tone knob was added to activate the neck and bridge pickup in any switching position.
