PRS Featured in the Museum of Design Atlanta's "Wire & Wood" Exhibit
Posted Jul 01, 2019
The Museum of Design Atlanta, or as the cool kids say, "MODA" was formed in 1989 and is the only museum in the Southeast dedicated exclusively to the study and celebration of all things design. On June 29th, MODA opened their newest exhibit, Wire & Wood: Designing Iconic Guitars.
Wire & Wood explores the basics of guitar design while also considering how some guitars have become icons, how they reached this status, and how technology will affect the instrument in the future.
Paul Reed Smith is featured as one of three legendary luthiers within the gallery and on June 29th Paul traveled to Atlanta for the exhibit's opening event.
During his speech, Paul covered the history of the electric guitar, why materials matter, and shared his journey as a luthier and entrepreneur. Paul was joined on stage by graphic designer and musician Ken Carbone for a live Q&A as well as a short musical performance.
After the lecture, attendees walked the exhibition for the first time and had the opportunity to meet and chat with Paul Reed Smith.
