Fun fact! Our quality-built affordable SE Series first began as a collaboration with Carlos Santana when the "Santana SE" was introduced to the world in 2001. Since then, SE signature models have held a special place within the SE Series.

Based on the vintage-voiced McCarty platform, the SE DGT was meticulously designed with the help of Austin-based musician David Grissom. The original Silver Sky was introduced to the world in 2018 - 4 years later, we collaborated again with John Mayer to release the SE version. The DNA of the original was retained - a workhorse guitar offering classic single coil tones with modern specs refined by John Mayer and the PRS new products engineering team. The SE Silver Sky now has more options then ever, available with your choice of rosewood or maple fretboard and in "lefty" configurations.

In 2001, the "Santana SE" paved the way for our SE series to flourish and Carlos Santana’s long tenure as a PRS artist is a treasured part of PRS history.

The SE Santana pays homage to Carlos' preferences as a guitarist, but has also seen a number of design improvements since its initial launch in 2001. Mark Holcomb's signature models stand on their own in the PRS lineup and feature a number of unique specs perfect for those looking to race across the fretboard. While the guitar effortlessly achieves the tones needed for Mark's work in Periphery, it is no one trick pony. The Seymour Duncan Scarlet and Scourge pickups are extremely clear and articulate for players of all genres.

With its semi-hollow construction, matching flame-maple headstock veneer, and comfortable satin neck, the SE Zach Myers is as fun to look at as it is to play. Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers wanted to create a model that stood out visually, but would also sound and feel amazing. And good news lefties, the SE Zach Myers "Lefty" is available too! The SE Mark Tremonti features custom-voiced Tremonti "S" pickups that were inspired by his USA signature model and cover a wide range of tonal demands. The guitar is a workhorse that is fast to play and hard to put down. In the video below, Mark describes how he came to play PRS and the story behind his signature model designs.
