PRS Guitars Lefty Custom 24 and 22 Small Batch Run

Posted May 13, 2014

Every once and a while, a small batch of left-handed guitars are run through PRS’s production line in Stevensville, Maryland. For 2014, PRS has put together a small quantity of “Lefty” Custom 24 and “Lefty” Custom 22 instruments. The Custom 24 is the original PRS - the guitar Paul took to his first tradeshow in 1985 - and a constant favorite of players worldwide ever since. The Custom 22, originally introduced some years later in 1993, is a classic workhorse with all the tone you’ve come to expect from PRS with a distinctive, warm midrange and clarity.

Both models feature a figured maple top, mahogany back, 25” scale length mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and “old school” abalone bird inlays, Phase III locking tuners, PRS patented tremolo bridge (nickel hardware), and will be offered in 4 of PRS’s most popular “new for 2014” maple top colors: Aquableux, Blood Orange, Obsidian, Violet.

The Custom 24 will come with a 24-fret PRS “Regular” neck profile and uncovered 59/09 treble and bass pickups paired with one volume and one tone control and a 5-way blade switch. The Custom 22 will come with a wide fat neck profile and 57/08 treble and bass pickups paired with one volume and one push/pull tone control and a PRS 3-way toggle switch.
