On Wednesday, May 13th, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that manufacturing in Maryland may open as of 5:00pm on May 15th, 2020. PRS Guitars subsequently resumed manufacturing the week of May 18th.

PRS reopened with approximately 25% of the workforce as an additional precaution. Throughout the week, staffing was gradually increased, and PRS is now operating with a full production and operations staff. Production volume is expected to ramp more slowly, reaching previous output levels in the coming weeks. Some corporate staff continues to work from home during this time.

PRS Guitars has long been known for its solid-body electric instruments, but today PRS is proudly announcing its first-ever Parlor acoustic guitars. Building on its successful SE acoustic lineup, PRS’s new assortment of SE Tonare Parlor Acoustics are available in several colors and are offered both with and without electronics.

The PRS Guitars 35th Anniversary “Experience PRS” event that was planned for this weekend, May 8-9, is going virtual. The event, heralded as the Ultimate Guitar Festival for Guitarists and Music Lovers, was expected to attract around 3,500 attendees from all over the globe, including celebrated PRS artists, dealers and international distributors, customers and enthusiasts, and worldwide press for two days of music, education, factory tours, and fun at PRS Guitars in Stevensville, Maryland.

Hoping to inspire and send some positivity to the nurses, doctors, and staff at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Matt Scannell from the band Vertical Horizon delivered a personal video tribute to the medical community this week. The video starts with a heart-felt thank you to those at Hopkins on the front lines combatting COVID-19 and their tireless efforts dealing with increasingly challenging conditions.

On Monday, March 30th, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced a “Stay at Home” Executive Order, closing all non-essential Maryland businesses as of 8:00PM. Resultantly, PRS Guitars has temporarily closed operations. While manufacturing is not currently operating, corporate staff – including Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Artist Relations, Finance, and the Supply Chain team – will continue to work from home during this time.

Paul Reed Smith Guitars, one of the largest full-time private employers in Queen Anne’s County, celebrated milestones in service for 44 PRS Employees on Friday, December 13th. Employees with Five Years of Service, Ten Years of Service, Fifteen Years of Service, Twenty Years of Service, Twenty-Five Years of Service and Thirty Years of Service were celebrated with plaques and gifts.

Today, on the first day of the 2020 Winter NAMM Show, PRS Guitars is pleased to announce two new updates to the John Mayer Silver Sky model, including a long-awaited maple fretboard option, two new colors, and a limited run with a flip-flop premium finish.

Paul Reed Smith Dragon model guitars are among the most coveted PRS models. PRS is celebrating this historic model in 2020 with the ninth installment since the company’s first Dragon model in 1992: the Private Stock 35th Anniversary Dragon Limited Edition.
