With endorsements from artists like John Mayer, John Wesley Dearth, and Jimmy Herring, the McCarty 594 saw a great reception in 2016. For 2017, PRS has introduced a single-cutaway version of the 594 as both the November Private Stock Guitar of the Month and a new Core model.

PRS Guitars introduced the SE Series in 2001 in an effort to bring high-quality, high-value guitars to the market. Popular with professional, casual, and beginning players alike, the SE Series has grown considerably since its introduction both in the style of models offered and in the detailed quality of the instruments. The evolution continues with all maple top models in the SE lineup getting a new look, sound, and feel for 2017.
The Custom 24 is the instrument that started PRS back in 1985, so of course the Guitar of the Month program would not be complete without celebrating this model.
PRS Guitars is pleased to continue their relationship with Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed fame with the announcement of the Limited Edition Tremonti Baritone model.
On September 23, The National Museum of African American History and Culture opened at the Smithsonian with a three-day, two-night festival near the Museum that transformed a corner of The National Mall and rocked with the sounds of The Roots, Public Enemy, and Living Colour, featuring PRS guitarist and Black Rock Coalition Founder Vernon Reid.
In January of this year, PRS Guitars unveiled the return of a classic: the CE 24 Bolt-On. After nearly a decade of being out of the lineup, the CE24 was re-envisioned to deliver the snap and sparkle of traditional bolt-on guitars with increased playability and an updated sound. The new CE24 Standard Satin continues to build on that bolt-on platform with a thin satin finish to enhance the vintage vibe while delivering a natural, smooth-playing feel.
Inspired by a special instrument made for Carlos Santana, the Private Stock September Guitar of the Month is the 24-Fret McCarty Singlecut Trem. The classic Santana/PRS Combination of a 24.5” scale length, 24 frets, and a tremolo bridge live on here, and just like Santana’s personal axe, the September Guitar of the Month features a “custom wound” 58/15 treble pickup, which is wound a little hotter for a bit more power in the bridge position.
