Dimitri Peters

Having recently "graduated" from the PRS Pulse Artist program to the status of PRS Official Artist, Dimitri had been a proud member of the 2024 class of Pulse Artists. Starting his journey with the guitar at age fourteen, Dimitri was playing in the church by sixteen, in addition to picking up other gigs in the greater Nashville area. Dimitri currently calls Texas home, but since 2019 travels full-time nationally and internationally in his current role with recording artist, Eddie James. He’s graced stages in Canada, Belize, Nigeria, Israel, South Africa, and all across Europe. He's also had the opportunity to work with other artists/ministries including Tamela Mann, Sean Feucht, Crystal Aikin, and Christ For All Nations, as both guitarist and music arranger.

“It’s a dream come true to be a part of the PRS family. To be recognized by your favorite guitar builder is truly an honor” - Dimitri Peters

Q&A WITH DIMITRI

PRS: Who are some of the guitarists who have had the biggest influence on your own playing, and are there any up-and-coming guitarists you’re excited about?

Dimitri: There’s so many guitarists that have influenced me from John Mayer, Mark Lettieri, Aaron Marshall, Cory Wong, Mateus Asato to so many more. Up-and-coming guitarists that I’m excited about are Jamaal Franklin, Colton Duty, Alex Williams, and Leeland Thompson. They’re already doing great things and I know that there’s more to come.

PRS: Do you have any unique pre-performance rituals, or perhaps a certain piece of gear that must be present before you hit the stage?

Dimitri: Nothing unique but I pray for sure. I’ve been performing for so long and yet I still get nervous before the set. I mostly pray that someone would be touched by my playing. It helps calm the nerves and gets me through the set.

PRS: We often see you performing with your Amaryllis Fiore, what other PRS guitars do you own? What models are on your “wish list?”

Dimitri: I love my Fiore! It gets the job done. Right now, it’s my only PRS but I’ve owned quite a few PRS models like the Special 22, Custom 24, S2 Studio, S2 594, 513, and Johnny Hiland Signature. The guitar I really want right now is the core Swamp Ash Special in Vintage Natural. That wood grain looks beautiful through the finish.

PRS: What do you love the most about PRS guitars?

Dimitri: I love the innovativeness of PRS. They’re all about tweaking and improving their gear no matter how big or small. There’s always something to expect.

PRS: What’s in store for 2025? Are you working on new music or preparing for any tours that we should keep an eye and ear out for?

Dimitri: I have new music I’m honored to have helped arrange and play guitar on with Eddie James coming this Spring. I’m excited to get back overseas to Africa, Europe, and Asia later on this year.

PRS: Could you offer any advice to guitarists looking to make waves in the praise & worship scene?

Dimitri: Trust in God! Use the gifts and talents he has blessed you with to bless others. Continue to grow spiritually and musically and don’t be afraid to go against the grain.
