Supporting Our Community with "Play-It-Forward" and More!
Posted Dec 13, 2024
Music makes the world a better place, but helping others in need makes an even bigger impact. When it comes to supporting our communities abroad, across the U.S., and here in Maryland, we here at PRS Guitars are dedicated to helping our neighbors near and far. Over the past four months alone, we have been proud to provide donations of food, toys, cash and guitars to those who could use a hand this year. Each of these initiatives has been a priority of ours for several years.
Serving the U.S. and Beyond
Our Play It Forward program allows us to donate guitars to business associates so they can in turn donate them to the person or cause of their choice around Giving Tuesday. This holiday season, we sent more than 150 guitars throughout the world.
The inlay geniuses behind many of our Dragon guitars, including the current 40th Anniversary model, Maryland-based Aulson Inlay added a custom truss rod cover and donated their SE CE24 Standard to a silent auction benefitting their local Toys for Tots drive.
Social media influencer and master guitar teacher Michael Palmisano gave his SE Swamp Ash Special to one lucky member of his GuitarGate online learning community. Others were donated to charity raffles, school music education programs, and other wonderful causes.
Serving our Local Community
Over the past couple of months, our employees have been selflessly generous in supporting our local county's Toys for Tots drive. Over the last few weeks, our team has overflowed the donation boxes with more than 75 toys to help make sure every child gets a holiday gift.
In this holiday season's food drive, our employees and members of the local community combined to donate 2,713 items, which totaled more than 500 lbs. of food to multiple food banks doing amazing work here in Maryland. Additionally, we gave each of the food banks we work with $500 a piece to further their work in our neighboring communities.
It just takes a little compassion and kindness to make someone's day a little brighter. How do you "play it forward"? We hope everyone has a warm and safe winter and a joyful new year!
